Tanzanian AF Grade coffee is a mixed, lower-grade arabica, combining various bean sizes and qualities, often including broken or defective beans, sourced from Bourbon, Kent, and Nyassa varietals grown at 1,400-1,800m in volcanic regions like Kilimanjaro and Mbeya. Typically washed-processed—depulping, 12-36 hour fermentation, and sun-drying—or sometimes natural-processed, it yields an inconsistent cup. The flavor profile features subdued acidity, with faint citrus, earthy, or herbal notes, a light, uneven body, and a short finish. Scoring below 83 SCA, Tanzanian AF is used in commercial blends or instant coffee, offering a basic, less vibrant taste of Tanzania’s coffee heritage
