Uganda Screen 14 Robusta coffee, a smaller grade (14/64 inches, ~5.5 mm), is sourced from Coffea canephora varietals grown at 900-1,500m in Uganda’s fertile central and western regions, like Buganda and Bunyoro. Primarily natural-processed, cherries are sun-dried whole for 10-21 days, enhancing earthy notes. This grade yields a bold, full-bodied cup with low acidity, featuring flavors of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and woody earth, with hints of caramel. The finish is robust but less complex than higher grades. Scoring 80-82 SCA, Screen 14 Robusta is used in commercial blends or instant coffee, supporting Uganda’s smallholder-driven coffee economy.
