Uganda B Grade arabica coffee, screened at 15/64 inches (~6 mm), comprises smaller beans from SL14, SL28, and Bugisu varietals, grown at 1,200-2,000m in volcanic regions like Mount Elgon and Rwenzori. Washed processing—depulping, 12-36 hour fermentation, and sun-drying—produces a clean but less complex cup than higher grades. Expect mild acidity with subtle citrus, berry, or earthy notes, a light body, and a short, slightly sweet finish. Scoring 82-84 SCA, Uganda B is often used in blends or budget brews, offering an economical taste of Uganda’s coffee heritage with decent quality for drip or commercial roasting.
