Kenya PB (Peaberry) coffee features small, round, single beans formed when only one seed develops inside the coffee cherry, unlike the usual two flat-sided beans. Screened at sizes below 15/64 inches (~6 mm), these rare beans, about 5-10% of a crop, come from Kenya’s highland SL28/SL34 varietals grown at 1,500-2,000m in volcanic soils. Washed processing—depulping, 12-36 hour fermentation, and sun-drying—enhances their concentrated flavors. Kenya PB offers intense acidity, with bright blackcurrant, grapefruit, and floral notes, a dense body, and a sweet, lingering finish. Scoring 85+ SCA, it’s prized for pour-over or espresso, delivering a vibrant, premium Kenyan experience.
